BLack tea recommendation / ST.DALFOUR - Golden Peach Tea

Here is today's black tea recommendation.

Have you heard of the brand ST. DALFOUR?

There should be many who would say, "Hmmm...I think I've heard of it somewhere..."

You might have heard of it because they are famous for their organic jams, and you will be able to find one of these in Costco.

Cafe Planet's third tea story is about ST. DALFOUR's Golden Peach Tea.

As it is strongly emphasizes on its front cover right in the center, it is ORGANIC!

St. Dalfour is very strict to ensure that all products, not only teas and jams, they produce are 100% organic.

Even the design of the package seems to be in line with their philosophy as it feels quite subdued.

They used these subdued colors in many other tea packages rather than making them fancy and colorful to make them look more pure and clean.

The separate tea bag package also looks like above.

I can see that they paid careful attention in designing each and every one of packages and tea bags.

Today's snack is the pretzel.

I chose it not only because it's a leftover after I sold the rest of them in my coffee shop. :-)  I just wanted to finish my lunch with this quickly.

The reason I attached this photo which is not fully brewed yet is because I think it's wrong when someone says, "Never, ever shake the tea bag because if you do, it will get bitter!  You should leave the bag in the water untouched and let it will brew naturally."

Basically, there are fundamental rules in handling all food supplies, but they do not apply to all cases.

Sometimes you should fry on high heat.  Even though standard coffee espresso extraction will take about 25~30 seconds, depending on the type of coffee beans ristretto which takes about 20 seconds for extraction or lungo which takes longer time for extraction might taste better.

There are also different types of extraction methods for black teas depending on how you'd want to enjoy it in straight tea or in milk tea.

You should not shake the tea bags severely, but you have to over-brew it occasionally.

There are many black teas which the tea leaves would sink down like this brand.  In this case you should stir it a little.

Well... That's why I attached this picture... to brag about it... :-)

The color of this tea is very clear and bright brown.  Doesn't it look like overripe peach? :)

I could certainly smell the peach from this.

They used Ceylon tea as a base that contains lots of tannin, so it smells soft fruit but tastes sharp.

Some scent added teas are too strong that you can also taste it, but this golden peach tea is not one of those.

I can smell soft peach, but it tastes clean and solid as you would taste it naturally from most of Ceylon teas.

Those of you who do not like bitter taste of black teas; you might get disappointed if you have anticipated too much from the name "peach".  However, this tea will be very attractive to you if you are a big fan of black teas.
